The stories my shoulder could tell...

A number of years ago, I didn't pay attention to what my mother said, and I ended up breaking my humerus. No, it wasn't funny, it was actually quite painful. As a result of the multiple weeks of being immobilized, my shoulder lost some of it's range of mobility. Basically - it hurts.

D. and I moved a fortnight ago. The number of flat boxes now surpasses the number of boxes that are full (and heavy) - this also means that the number of Ben-Gay patches applied to my shoulder is now greater than zero (Aisha, our cat - hates [hates!] the smell).

No, this posting is not to get you to feel sorry for me - it's so I can brag. This weekend, while D. was away (he was running a half marathon back home - that is material for another post - one I'll write when he's not sitting next to me and pretending he's not reading my screen) - the Sears people delivered our washer and dryer (yay!). The only problem - our dryer couldn't be connected to the vent - technical difficulties. Ten dollars' worth of materials (I love Home Depot) later, I was trying to balance myself - one knee on the water heater, the other on the washing machine (do NOT try this at home) - whilst trying to fit the exhaust tube to the dryer.

Mission accomplished.

That first load of laundry was probably the only one I've actually been proud of.

I've been reminded...

A couple of weeks ago I was in NYC on a nice warm, summer day. It had been a fantastic weekend, I had some time to meet up with my girlfriends (and had been reminded of the power of friendships) and was now sitting with a group of people whom I greatly admire.

One of these people, L. reminded me that I had a blog, and that it was disgracefully out of date.

So, here I am, sitting on my bed and trying to think if there's anything worth writing about, with what's going on in my life right now.... I guess our biggest news is that D. and I have finally bought a place. We moved on Monday, so there are still boxes everywhere (more so on the sections of the place D. is supposed to unpack, is this why they recommend you get married before you buy? So you don't leave?)

I'll try to find pictures of the place, the website of our building is: www.210southstreet.com

namaste,
